At 20:59 on April 25, 2024, Beijing time, the Long March 2F Y10 carrier rocket carrying the Shenzhou 18 manned spacecraft ignited and launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. About 10 minutes later, the Shenzhou 18 manned spacecraft successfully separated from the rocket and entered the predetermined orbit, achieving complete success.

To help Gen Z youth gain a deeper understanding of aerospace technology and foster their passion for science, Xueersi  Science organized an educational trip to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. There, students witnessed the historic launch of the Shenzhou-18 crewed spacecraft, experiencing firsthand the remarkable achievements of China's aerospace prowess.

Every child has a little aerospace dream in their heart, imagining freely soaring the sky and overlooking the earth like a bird.

"As I watched the rocket disappear gradually, I felt a thousand emotions." Wang, a student, recalled how he used to pester his parents to take him to visit the aerospace museum when he first started primary school, often drawing rockets and astronauts. He dreamed of flying into the blue sky, entering the universe, traveling through the solar system, and plucking a few stars...

"After hearing about the successful launch of the Shenzhou 18 spacecraft, we waved our national flag and burst into cheers. Our hearts were filled with excitement and patriotic fervor. For the children, this is the most vivid patriotism education!" said the accompanying parents excitedly.

After the launch, the students couldn't calm down for a long time. "I thought I would be excited and thrilled, but unexpectedly, when I saw the rocket rise in front of my eyes, I felt calm. But when I looked back and saw countless national flags held high in the sky, I suddenly felt tears welling up," he said. It turns out that watching a rocket launch can make people cry.

Witnessing the miracle of space exploration

In the dim light of dawn, Xueersi  Science students, led by their parents and teachers, set off for the depths of the desert to visit the aerospace city.The Dongfeng Aerospace City (Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center) is located in the Ejina Banner of Alxa League, Inner Mongolia. It is the earliest and largest comprehensive test launch site established in China, with the most advanced technology. It is also the only manned space launch site in China and one of the world's three major manned space launch sites.

The Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center has contributed to many "firsts" in China's aerospace industry, laying down milestone achievements.

Later, with a mix of excitement and awe, everyone entered the underground command center after passing through two blast doors.

Decades ago, it was here, under such harsh conditions, that the command personnel issued the order to launch, opening a new chapter in the history of Chinese aerospace.

The bold and resolute promises made by the earlier generation of aerospace pioneers, inscribed on the wall, are earnest teachings for the future journey of our young generation.
