In May 2023, Xueersi began the research and development of self-study large models. Cong Longfei, head of Xueersi Smart Education Solutions, introduced that the intelligent homework system provides a comprehensive homework solution with "content + tools + services", supporting schools to conduct unified homework, hierarchical homework, and "personalized homework for thousands of people."
"Our solution does not change students' and teachers' habits of writing and correcting papers. The MathGPT is independently developed by Xueersi and is a large model core based on problem-solving and algorithmic teaching for global math enthusiasts and research institutions. At present, in addition to solving math problems, the AI intelligent composition correction of the MathGPT has also been implemented on the learning machine.
What changes does the application of large model technology bring to Xpad? Cong Longfei pointed out that before applying the MathGPT , the learning machine was mainly based on built-in resources, and students could learn, but could not ask questions. When students encountered questions they didn't know, they could take pictures to search for the answers, but whether the question could be answered depended on whether the question was in the question bank. However, no question bank from any company can be infinite. After the application of large model technology, it has the ability to solve questions on its own. Even if there are no ready-made answers, the large model can answer them on its own. This is a complete technological upgrade, and for students, they can both learn and ask questions, forming a closed-loop learning behavior.
With the continuous deepening of large model technology in the field of mathematical applications, its application scenarios have expanded to multiple levels such as solving math problems, data analysis, academic research, and learning guidance. Cong Longfei revealed that with the improvement of the MathGPT abilities in subjects such as physics, biology, English, and Chinese, more innovative experiences will be brought to the educational scene.
It is reported that the MathGPT completed the relevant filing and passed the review in November 2023, making it the first batch of education large models to be filed.

Using AI technology to drive the digitization of education

In addition to the MathGPT, in smart education, the comprehensive intelligent homework solution developed by Xueersi is also an important part. Smart homework refers to a "content + tools + service" comprehensive homework solution, which supports schools to use digital tools to carry out unified homework, hierarchical homework, and "personalized homework for thousands of people", thereby enhancing student learning effects, reducing the burden on students, and ultimately improving the quality and efficiency of education and teaching.
It is reported that Xueersi's smart homework integrates artificial intelligence, big data, knowledge graphs, and other technologies and has achieved three major technological innovations compared to similar technology applications: First, using knowledge graphs to achieve more intelligent personalized homework recommendations in line with educational laws; Second, combining software and hardware, without changing the existing habits of paper writing and correcting, it achieves automatic homework correction; Third, it has realized OCR recognition automatic correction function, which accomplishes objective question automatic correction with an accuracy rate of >98%.
In terms of homework correction, Xueersi has achieved two forms - manual correction by dot-matrix pens and automatic scanning correction. Both methods achieve visualized analysis of the mastery of knowledge points by each student. Teachers can generate visualized learning reports through the platform and conduct targeted lesson preparation based on simple analysis, making precise breakthroughs for common weaknesses in the class.
