【Innovation Philosophy】
1. Innovative Small Class Teaching Mode
Xueersi was the first to innovate small class teaching methods.
Firstly, small class teaching: 20 students per class to ensure learning efficiency and effectiveness.
Secondly, an open classroom: breaking the barrier between training institutions and parents, inviting parents into the classroom to observe. Before this, no institution had done this, and even today, many have not.
Thirdly, a refund policy: allowing full refunds if not satisfied with the first class, and proportional refunds before two thirds of the course is completed.
By innovating small class teaching methods, Zhang Bangxin has pushed for transparency in the industry and forced himself to focus on teaching quality.
2. The Multiplicative Value of 3 Hours of Teaching
During the 3 hours of extracurricular training, the goal is not only to impart knowledge and methods, but also to enhance students' interest in learning and help them develop good behavioral habits and ways of thinking.
3. Innovating the "Live Broadcast + Tutoring" Dual-Teacher Model
Xueersi's small class teaching, open classroom, and refund policy have promoted greater transparency and standardization in the industry. At the same time, Zhang Bangxin has taken the lead in standardizing educational research in the industry and has long been committed to investing in technological innovation.
In 2014, under Zhang Bangxin's leadership, Xueersi explored the "Live Broadcast + Tutoring" dual-teacher model, separating the roles of "teaching" and "tutoring" for teachers, making it a significant change in online education.
4. TAL Group's Three Principles: Cause and Effect, Long-Termism, and Balance
Zhang Bangxin summarizes the underlying code of TAL's values as: cause and effect, long-termism, and balance.
The first law: cause and effect.
All living beings fear results, while bodhisattvas fear causes. When achieving a certain result, there must be a cause. We should not rush to pursue the result, but instead find the causes that can achieve the desired result, and put them into practice, so the result will naturally appear.
The second law: long-termism.
All success requires time and patience. When you invest in causes, you need time to reap the rewards. All of our values are based on solutions that can win in the long term, not just in the short term.
The third law: balance.
When you cultivate your inner self, the outward aspects will improve over the long term. When you serve customers over the long term, they will also benefit you. When you invest in research and development for the long term, your products will be highly competitive. Ultimately, everything, in the long run, based on cause and effect, is balanced.
5. Technology is the Key Force Driving Inclusive Education
In May 2023, Zhang Bangxin authored an article in the May 2023 issue of China Netcom magazine, titled "Technology is the Key Force Driving Inclusive Education," in which he emphasized the importance of using educational technology to promote educational modernization and cultivate modern talent. He advocated leveraging unique strengths in technology, products, and content innovation to drive the comprehensive digital transformation of educational stakeholders and contribute to the construction of a learning-oriented society for lifelong education.
He pushed TAL to release an open educational platform, making R&D achievements available to the education industry, providing technological products and solutions covering online and offline education, and using technology to provide large-scale, low-cost, and high-quality teaching services, promoting educational fairness and inclusivity, and creating more socially valuable services and products. TAL Education Group focuses on meeting the talent development needs of the country's major strategic needs.
