The COVID-19 epidemic has been on the minds of hundreds of millions of Chinese people. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic, TAL Education Group has taken multiple measures to support the fight against the epidemic. The anti-epidemic public welfare relief campaign launched by TAL has continuously accompanied teachers and students across the country and benefited hundreds of millions of families.

As early as January 26th, TAL Education Group announced the establishment of a 100 million yuan special fund for epidemic prevention and control. Over the past two months, the entire group has been united and all staff have taken action, earnestly fulfilling their commitments. Various business units of TAL Education Group have taken action, some focusing on developing courses, some on improving products, and some on expanding public welfare coverage... All expenses in these areas are paid by the special fund, aiming to provide high-quality and new online learning courses for children in severely affected areas and students in remote mountainous areas whose schools have been delayed due to the epidemic.

It is known that TAL Education Group firstly donated 20 million yuan in cash to the Wuhan Charity Federation, mainly for the purchase of medical supplies to fight the COVID-19 epidemic, especially to ensure the health of frontline medical staff. After receiving this donation, the Wuhan COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command immediately set up a special account and has already used it in accordance with laws and regulations and unified planning.

At the same time, TAL Education Group approved and urgently authorized an 80 million yuan special fund for anti-epidemic education public welfare, which will be used for public welfare relief services during the anti-epidemic struggle. This project does not charge students and schools, and all expenses are paid by the special fund. Specifically, it includes:

1. Free provision of live streaming platforms and technical support to primary and secondary schools in Hubei Province and other severely affected areas across the country

In response to the teaching and learning needs of primary and secondary school teachers and students during the epidemic, the Smart Education division of TAL Education Group has provided free live streaming teaching systems to relevant primary and secondary schools across the country since January 26th, enabling teachers to teach online and students to study at home successfully. As of now, TAL Education Group's Smart Education system has completed the deployment of online live streaming teaching systems and teaching training services in 595 schools across the country, serving over 30,000 teachers and covering 460,000 students.

TAL Education Group pays close attention to high school students who are under heavy academic pressure during the epidemic. The Smart Education and other divisions have provided free high-school teaching public welfare relief courses to over 170 senior high schools in 24 provinces (municipalities), especially introducing TAL Education Group's courses and Q&A services, greatly alleviating the teaching pressure on school teachers and students.

2. Providing online live streaming teaching solutions for offline training institutions in Hubei Province and other severely affected areas across the country

On January 23rd, TAL Education Group's Open Platform launched the "Safe Haven Plan", hoping to build an educational safe haven with technology and help educational institutions in Wuhan and surrounding areas "stop school but not classes". As the epidemic developed, the "Safe Haven Plan" was continuously upgraded. On January 27th, TAL Education Group's Open Platform decided and promised that all training institutions across the country could use the online teaching system of Live Cloud for free until the end of the epidemic. At the same time, platform partners can also enjoy different types of course content, operation support, etc.

So far, the "Safe Haven Plan" has helped 140,000 teachers from over 40,000 training institutions in 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and 310 prefecture-level administrative regions provide online teaching to over 20 million students for 2 million class hours freely through TAL Education Group's online teaching system.

3. Launching free live streaming classes in sync with school schedules for students in Hubei Province and other severely affected areas across the country who cannot start school normally

On January 27th, Xueersi Online School announced that from February 10th, it would launch free live streaming classes and self-study classes from Monday to Friday in sync with school schedules for all grades and subjects, covering all subjects from grade one of primary school to grade three of high school. In addition to subject courses, Xueersi Online School also offers a variety of free quality courses, master classes and parent classes. Students can watch the free live-streaming courses of Xueersi Online School through channels such as Study Strong, CCTV Video, Xueersi Online School APP and Xueersi Online School's official website. Every day, over 60 million students watch the live-streaming courses, covering all regions from Xinjiang to Hainan Island, and from Henan to Yunnan and Guizhou.

In response to the differentiated learning needs of students in different regions, on February 9th, Xueersi Peiyou, a subsidiary of TAL Education Group, in collaboration with Xueersi Online School, provided free localized courses for students in each region, making learning more targeted. As of now, the localized "anti-epidemic free courses" of Xueersi Peiyou have covered millions of students in all branches across the country.

All the costs for the above three aspects are covered by the TAL Education Group's Anti-Epidemic Special Education Fund. As the epidemic spreads, more departments of TAL Education Group have joined the public welfare support action. From Xueersi Qingke, which provides free large-screen public welfare courses, to " Libu Enlightenment Literacy Camp", which offers free quality courses for preschool children, as well as Xiaoheiban, Xueersi Aizhikang, KMF, iQIDao, JZB, and TAL Charity Foundation, all have opened up their resources to provide rich free learning resources and services for students of all ages.

A spokesperson form TAL Education Group stated that they stand with all teachers and students across the country. As long as the epidemic continues, TAL Education Group's public welfare support actions will not stop. He said that the consensus among the group's senior management is that the 100 million yuan anti-epidemic special fund has been fully committed. The quality of the courses will not be compromised due to being free, and efforts to enhance the learning experience will be continuously refined. TAL Education Group will always adhere to empowering the people of the nation with love and technology and meet the arrival of the final victory together.

Li Guangxue, a girl from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, is in the sixth grade this year, which is a crucial stage for the transition from primary to junior high school. The sudden outbreak of the epidemic led to the delay of school opening and the closure of all training institutions. After careful comparison, her father chose the localized live-streaming courses of Xueersi Peiyou. The courses are well-matched with the local textbook system, and the teachers are humorous and interesting in their teaching, and also pay great attention to communication with parents, which makes him feel more at ease.

This is Liu Bo, a senior high school biology teacher at Weixian No.1 Middle School in Xingtai, Hebei Province. During the epidemic, she began to try online teaching for the first time. With the help of the teachers from TAL Education's Smart Education, Teacher Liu Bo successfully started online classes using TAL Education's live streaming system and became an "internet celebrity" in the hearts of her students.

These are the students of He&Mo Education and Training School. This small training institution located in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, experienced a "life and death" situation during the epidemic. Eventually, through TAL Education's Open Platform's "Safe Harbor Plan", it smoothly transformed to online teaching. Not only did not lose a single student, but the third period course also added 220 new students, achieving a miraculous survival.
