On November 22, Yan Ying, Vice Chairman of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairperson of the Beijing Federation of Industry and Commerce (FIC), led a team to visit and conduct a seminar at TAL Education Group on the theme of "Establishing the Correct Outlook on Benefits and Building the Beijing Model for the Splendid Cause." An Youwen, member of the Party Leadership Group and Secretary General of the Beijing FIC, presided over the seminar. Experts and surveyors from the United Front Work Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee, the Beijing Development and Reform Commission, the Beijing Education Commission, the Beijing Rural Agriculture Bureau, and the Beijing FIC also participated in the research.
During the survey, the delegation from the Beijing FIC visited and experienced TAL’s smart hardware, quality education, and smart classroom products. Zhang Bangxin, founder and CEO of TAL Education Group, provided detailed introductions about the company's business layout, social responsibility, and technological innovation, including the "Math GPT," one of the first educational large models in China to pass filing, and the "Research and Teaching Cloud" which helps teachers prepare lessons more efficiently.
Subsequently, Laura, Party Secretary and Executive President of TAL, gave an in-depth introduction to TAL’s development in creating social value. Under the mission of "To empower life-long growth with love and technology," TAL has promoted assistance projects in various directions such as children's care, reading education, science education, teacher development, and educational digitization.
Laura introduced Xueersi quality education series products to the experts present.
Among these initiatives, the Hand-in-Hand Project of the Xueersi Xpad aims to find 100 rural schools within three years and donate a certain number of Xueersi Xpad to teachers. The project guides teachers to apply the learning machines in daily teaching and management, helping to reduce their workload and improve teaching abilities, thereby benefiting more local students. So far, more than a thousand learning machines have been donated to over 20 schools in 9 provinces and municipalities.
During the seminar, both parties exchanged views on the company's fulfillment of social responsibilities and its digital transformation. Yan Ying expressed that in recent years, TAL Education Group has actively fulfilled its social responsibilities, fully participating in counterpart cooperation, rural revitalization, and social public welfare. It was selected as one of the top 100 private enterprises in Beijing for social responsibility in both 2023 and 2024, showcasing the company's spirit of dedication and sense of responsibility.
Yan Ying emphasized that as a private enterprise in the capital, it is necessary to enhance patriotic sentiments, strive to be an excellent builder of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and make efforts to become a model of patriotism and dedication, firmly linking the development of the enterprise with national development; to become a model of lawful operation, continuously establishing and improving modern enterprise systems, and actively practicing the principle of clean government-business relations; to become a model of entrepreneurship and innovation, resolutely pursuing high-quality development, and vigorously cultivating new advantages for development; and to become a model of giving back to society, constantly shaping an image of wealth accompanied by responsibility, justice, and love. Enterprises should take the initiative to fulfill their duties and strive to be exemplary participants in the "Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages" action, actively participating in the "Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages: Around Beijing" activity, better leveraging their own technological and resource advantages, doing more beneficial, convenient, and people-oriented educational public welfare undertakings, promoting the balanced development of educational resources, and uncovering more new growth points for enterprise development.
Finally, Yan Ying stated that enterprises should accelerate reform and innovation, striving to be promoters of the development of the new era capital city, actively engaging in the “five-link” strategy serving and integrating into the new development pattern. They should closely link their own transformation and upgrading with the development of the new era capital city, promote the landing and application of new industries, new technologies, new products, and new scenarios, and better leverage the advantages of smart education platforms around the needs of the education industry and teachers and students in the city, continuously exploring new modes of "artificial intelligence + education."
