To support primary and secondary school scientific education, New Oriental has launched the "Xueersi museum" series products.

Recently, Xueersi Online School held the "Xueersi Museum" series product launch event, with many domestic popular science experts and museum directors in attendance. It is reported that since its launch, the product has served more than 150,000 primary and secondary school users, making it a benchmark product for Xueersi Online School's transformation into quality education. The "Xueersi Museum" series products are based on the concept of "browsing all things and integrating knowledge with action," and originated from the idea of "packing everything into a box and giving it to children," collecting children's favorite "nature gifts" in a "family museum."

Yuk Man Yung, CEO of TAL Education Group, introduced at the launch event: "Last year, on the 19th anniversary of TAL Education Group, we launched a new 'three-science' strategy (science education, scientific innovation, and popular science). We hope to use our own educational and technological accumulation to contribute more social value in the areas of science education, scientific innovation, and popular science, and help the national scientific education strategy."

Having a world view is needed to understand the world. "Xueersi Museum" gives children the opportunity to browse all things

More than 2,500 years ago, Confucius said, "Learn many things about plants, birds, and beasts." One hundred years later, the Western philosopher Aristotle said, "In all of nature, there are some amazing things. From ancient times to the present, natural history education has always been advocated.

So, what is natural history? Zhang Jinshuo, director of the National Museum of Animals, summarized it as: "Let children know what everything is. That's what natural history is." Indeed, natural history is an ancient discipline of human interaction with nature, serving as a bridge between natural sciences and humanities, and is a way of understanding the world. Through natural history, children can "learn widely," explore all things in the world, cultivate broad interests; can "acquire knowledge," from interests to continuous exploration, build their own knowledge system; and can "love widely," discover the beauty of the world from all things, and possess a spirit of love.

In order to better stimulate the curiosity, imagination, and exploratory desire of primary and secondary school students, and to integrate learning and entertainment, Xueersi Online School has released three major "Xueersi Museum" educational products - "My Natural History Museum", "My History and Culture Museum", and "My Science and Technology Museum."

The "Xueersi Museum" series products feature thematic teaching aids boxes, which contain "museum collections" related to the theme and are fun to play with. Each month focuses on an independent scientific theme, and comes with expert teacher online lectures on popular science content to guide children in exploring all things.

"My Natural History Museum" series - "The Genetic Code of Life"

Originating from instinct, based on interest, nurtured by accumulation, and excelling in integration, facilitating the cultivation of comprehensive talents

Wang Yuan, director of the China Museum of Ancient Animals, mentioned at the event: "The ancients said: 'Looking up at the vast universe, and looking down at the abundance of species, this is enough to delight the eyes and ears.‘ We can first arouse children's interest and let them actively explore." This aligns with the requirements of the Ministry of Education to enhance science education in primary and secondary schools. We must strive to plant the seeds of science in the minds of children and guide them to weave the dream of becoming a scientist.

So, how does the "Xueersi Museum" series stimulate children's interest? The product manager, Qu Sheng, introduced that the series is designed with the principle of "emphasis on practice and stimulating interest," and has formed three major core highlights.

Highlight One: Thematic learning, student-centered teaching tailored to individual differences.

When Xueersi Online School designed the product, it fully considered the characteristics of children being in the stage of exploring interests, and designed this set of twelve boxes, each with an independent theme, allowing children to make more attempts in a short period of time, and ultimately find their areas of interest and talent.

"My Natural History Museum" series - "The Wonderful Journey of Insects"

Highlight Two: Real teaching aids boxes, advancing science education based on exploratory practice to stimulate children's learning drive.

Through exploratory and practical science education, children's curiosity, imagination, and quest for knowledge are stimulated. Taking the theme "The Wonderful Journey of Insects" as an example, children need to make butterfly specimens by hand, and through active observation and comparison of a series of insect specimens, independently summarize the characteristics of insects and define them.

Highlight Three: Professional and interesting content, integrating learning and entertainment, and educating while entertaining.

Guiding children to consciously acquire scientific knowledge and cultivate a scientific spirit, improving their scientific literacy. The lecturers of the "Xueersi Museum" series are all experts with rich experience in in-depth scientific research. Based on Xueersi's nearly 20 years of educational and research accumulation, they guide students to actively participate in exploratory practice, helping children to open the door to wisdom.

Yuk Man Yung stated that Xueersi Online School will continue to leverage the advantages of online education, expand the boundaries of learning space, and work with all sectors of society to use high-quality scientific education courses to cultivate children's scientific spirit, improve their scientific literacy, enhance their confidence in science and technology, and become a beneficial supplement to science education within schools.
