On January 30, 2018, the China Children and Teenagers Foundation and TAL Education Group (referred to as "TAL") held the launching ceremony of the "Future Family Education Plan - Parent-Child Reading Public Welfare Project" in Beijing and released the "2017 China Family Parent-Child Reading Research Report."

Activities will include parent-child reading surveys, storytelling competitions, the establishment of parent-child reading rooms, and expert lectures in various locations across the country.

The survey sample data shows that 47.1% of children read for less than half an hour every day. Children with stronger reading abilities tend to have relatively better academic performance. Most parents are aware of parent-child reading, but read very rarely with their children... Based on the report, the "Future Family Education Plan - Parent-Child Reading Public Welfare Project" will provide more diverse and targeted guidance services for family education, allowing a large number of families to participate in their children's growth through parent-child reading.
