TAL Education Group supports UNESCO in the fight against the epidemic

According to the statistics of UNESCO, over 87% of students worldwide have been affected in their studies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Against this backdrop, the Institute from Information Technologies in Education (IITE) of UNESCO launched the "Fight against COVID-19" initiative. TAL Education Group has became an official partner of the event. Dr. Yang Songfan, the head of TAL's AI Engineering Institute, became a member of the expert group, helping students around the world to "continue learning despite school closures".

The "Fight against COVID-19" initiative aims to provide a platform for global government officials, teachers, students, and experts in education and technology to share experiences in combating the pandemic and offer course resources and technical support. After the initiative was launched, TAL Education Group responded positively, making its children's programming brand CodeMonkey, children's education brand Dr. Panda, and children's English education brand LiBuo English, among others, freely available with a series of courses to help children around the world learn happily during the pandemic. TAL Education Group stated that, adhering to its mission of "Love and technology make education better", it has the obligation to leverage its experience and resource advantages to help students around the world "continue learning despite school closures" during the pandemic.

After the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in China, TAL Education Group promptly established a 100 million yuan special fund for epidemic prevention and control, donating 20 million yuan to the Wuhan Charity Federation and using 80 million yuan for educational purposes, to the greatest extent, to help children across the country "continue learning despite school closures". The educational special fund is mainly used in three aspects: firstly, providing free live streaming platforms and technical support for primary and secondary schools across the country; secondly, providing online live streaming teaching solutions for offline training institutions across the country; thirdly, offering free live streaming classes in sync with school curriculums for students who cannot resume classes normally across the country.
