On December 4th, Zhang Bangxin, a teacher from Tomorrow Group, was invited to attend the first sub-forum "Sharing the Dividends: Internet Targeted Poverty Alleviation."
Education is the accelerator of social development.
During the meeting, Liu Yongfu, Director of the State Council Leading Group Office of Poverty Alleviation and Development, UNDP Resident Representative in China Mr. Nicholas Rosellini, and several well-known corporate leaders discussed the topic of "targeted poverty alleviation."
With the active participation and layout of the Internet, logistics companies, and other aspects, remote areas and neglected industries have been connected to the market, and the difficult people have also gained the ability to be self-reliant.
As an education technology company, how can Tomorrow Group improve poverty through "technology + the internet"?
Teacher Bangxin first shared his understanding of General Secretary Xi Jinping's proposal of "Poverty alleviation through intelligence":
Over the past 10 years, we have always believed that the economy is the speed of social development, and education is the accelerator of social development. "Acceleration" is critical for the progress and advancement of society, and "boosting intelligence" should be a priority.
From contributing money and efforts to heartfelt involvement.
During the meeting, Teacher Bangxin also mentioned the exploration and experience of using the Internet to promote targeted poverty alleviation.
Since 2008, Tomorrow Group has experienced three stages of iterations in educational public welfare.
The first stage was the donation and construction of Hope Elementary Schools. Subsequently, it was realized that the key to poverty alleviation in China's education is not just hardware, but teaching and service. Therefore, in the second stage, employees were encouraged to participate in volunteer teaching activities in poor mountainous areas.
In recent years, with the vigorous promotion of educational informatization by the country, the development of educational informationization hardware facilities in rural schools has rapidly increased. The national internet access rate for primary and secondary schools has increased from 25% five years ago to 90%. However, there is still a large gap between the teacher quality, the application ability of teachers to information technology, and teaching resources in rural schools and developed areas.
Starting in 2016, Tomorrow Group’s educational public welfare has entered a third stage, based on the current situation of China's rural education. Relying on the Internet, through a combination of "online live broadcasting + offline tutoring" in dual-teacher classrooms, the company shares high-quality education with more children in poor areas, achieving targeted poverty alleviation through intelligence.
In 2017, Tomorrow Group initiated the educational public welfare platform—Xiwang Online (xiwang.com), "using technology to promote balanced education," integrating high-quality online courses and teaching products, and fully opening them to public welfare organizations, educators, and educationally resource-poor areas.
Through this platform, schools in impoverished areas can also access the best educational resources, addressing the pain points of the lack of high-quality education.
Relying on Xiwang Online, Tomorrow Group cooperated with the governments of Foping County in Shaanxi Province, Song County in Henan Province, and Jeminay County in Xinjiang to create smart education, improve local education, and achieve intelligence alleviation of poverty in impoverished areas.
From donating Hope Elementary Schools to launching Xiwang Online, Teacher Bangxin expressed that the future direction is to use the power of technology and the Internet to promote balanced education.
On November 29th, Tomorrow Group and New Oriental jointly launched the "Qingxi Yuanshan Public Welfare Foundation," with each contributing 50 million for the development of education in poverty-stricken areas.
At the end of his speech, Teacher Bangxin expressed his hope that he could work together with the government, schools, and more partners to promote balanced education.
Using "technology + the internet"
To promote the balanced development of high-quality education
At the forum, Huang Yan, CTO of Tomorrow Group, signed a "Cooperation agreement to carry out network intelligence assistance" with Guanghe County in Gansu Province.

In the next three years, Tomorrow Group will establish a Xiwang Online platform in Guanghe County to provide teaching resources free of charge. This includes: an intelligent group course system, micro-course resources, recorded special courses, and other resources to improve the level of educational informationization locally.
Using technology to promote the balanced development of education, we have always been on the road.
